Kiri chapman started dancing at a young age and was invited at 12 to train on scholarship at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington DC. She went on to recieve awards and scholarships from the Youth America Grand Prix, School of American Ballet NYC, American Ballet Theatre NYC, and began her professional career at 17 with the Tulsa Ballet. There she performed choreography by Balanchine, Twyla Tharp, Nacho Duato as well as the classics Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, La Sylphide, and many more. She then went on to dance in musicals in NYC, and then joined River North Dance Company, one of Chicago’s premiere contemporary jazz companies. She currently lives in Brazil where she and her husband own schools in Rio and Sao Paulo, and tours throughout the world teaching and performing Latin American partner dance. She has performed on TV shows such as America’s Got Talent, and World of Dance, and her choreography has been featured in shows throughout Brazil.
