Annelise Senkowski is currently a fourth-year dual-degree student at the University of Michigan studying Dance (BFA) and Microbiology (BS). She started to dance in her hometown of Savannah, Georgia and continued her formal dance education at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Training experience in addition to UNCSA includes Boston Ballet, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Miami City Ballet, The Rock School, and the Kirov Academy. Annelise has performed in various ballets including Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Raymonda, Frederick Ashton’s Birthday Offering, and George Balanchine’s Allegro Brilliante and La Source under the direction(s) of Susan Jaffe, Laura Martin, Jared Reddick, Jennet Zerbe, and Warren Conover. She has also been cast in professional works by Merce Cunningham, Camille A. Brown, Shannon Gillen with VIM VIGOR, Alessio Silverstein, and Bosmat Nossan. Annelise has been teaching ballet and contemporary over the past five years in numerous capacities; whether she is present as a guest teacher, guest artist, or private coach, she enjoys seeing all age groups grow to love and appreciate the difficulties and intricacies within dance as a high art form.
